The South of South Neighborhood Association Announces Plazapalooza 2022!
Plazapalooza is an annual fundraising event to activate the SOSNA Triangle located at 23rd and South Streets and celebrate public spaces that promote community engagement, happiness, and well being.
Graduate Hospital, Philadelphia - Today, the South of South Neighborhood Association’s Board of Directors announced that SOSNA Plazapalooza will be held on Saturday, May 14th, from 12pm to 5pm at the SOSNA Triangle located at Grays Ferry between South Street & Bainbridge Street
“Plazapalooza brings together local residents and businesses to activate and celebrate public space,” said Nolan Tully, Chair of SOSNA’s Board of Directors. “Public spaces capitalize on community assets and promote engagement, happiness, and well being. Each year, Plazapalooza allows residents of all ages to come together and enjoy the SOSNA Triangle.”
This is the 11th year that SOSNA has hosted Plazapalooza following a two year hiatus due to COVID-19. This year will feature a diverse music lineup from South Street Sounds students, Church of the Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic band, Jason Jefferies and the Tall Trees, New Pony Funk as well as local food truck fare and activities including balloon animals, a dance performance by the Movemakers, and local business vendors. To entice those who are twenty-one and older, libations are being sponsored by beloved local establishment Grace Tavern.
“We’re thankful for the generous support provided by Grace Tavern, The Igloo, Vicinity Energy, and Washington Avenue Animal Hospital, and all those who support Plazapalooza and the work that the South of South Neighborhood Association does on behalf our community and its residents,” said Addie Johnston, Vice-chair of SOSNA’s Board of Directors.
