Why do you want to serve as a SOSNA Board Member?
I want to serve as a SOSNA Board Member because I am deeply committed to strengthening and enriching our neighborhood. Over the years, I have been actively involved in initiatives that bring both youth and longtime community members together, fostering connection and a sense of belonging. Seven years ago, I founded a children’s community theater group, which is still running today and provides a space for kids to explore creativity, storytelling, and diverse cultural experiences. I have also participated in recent fundraising for Marian Anderson Academy and volunteered in the facelift of our community pool, helping to improve a space that benefits families and neighbors across the community. I am passionate about connecting people, celebrating our diverse cultures, and creating opportunities for engagement across generations. Serving on the board would allow me to contribute my experience, energy, and dedication to projects that preserve the neighborhood’s character while supporting its continued growth.

Why do you want to serve as a SOSNA Board Member?
As a former business owner in our neighborhood, I know firsthand how much our Graduate Hospital community has to offer. Since closing my business in 2021, I’ve missed being part of that daily connection, and I’m eager to re-engage in a meaningful way. I believe strong neighborhoods are built on involvement, collaboration, and support—especially for our small businesses, which are the heart of our local economy. Serving on the board would give me the opportunity to contribute my experience, energy, and perspective to help strengthen our community.

Can you please share your current/previous volunteer & leadership experience?
For 7 years I ran my own small business. After closing I continued to do work on my own in different neighborhoods across Philadelphia to help support small businesses. Some of the work I did in our neighborhood was helping to showcase our businesses through social media and to program events like Fridays on South where we set up stations along South Street and the Triangle to help support individual makers as well as the established business in Graduate Hospital.

Why do you want to serve as a SOSNA Board Member?
I love living in Graduate Hospital and want to help make our neighborhood a place where families feel rooted, small businesses thrive, and neighbors truly know and trust one another. Serving on the SOSNA Board is an opportunity to give back to a community and be future focused. I’m passionate about supporting a diverse mix of businesses that bring energy and pride to our streets while strengthening the bonds that make this a great place to live. I want to contribute my time and energy to building a community where residents love to live, raise families, and feel connected, while also attracting visitors who will invest in and appreciate all that our neighborhood has to offer.

Can you please share your current/previous volunteer & leadership experience?
I have enjoyed volunteering with my family on a variety of community causes over the years, which has deepened my appreciation for giving back and working together to make a difference. In my professional life, I lead a team at a global company where I practice and model our core values of courage, excellence, equity, and joy. These principles guide not only my leadership style at work but also how I engage with others in everyday life. I strive to foster collaboration, create inclusive environments, and encourage people to bring their best selves forward. Through both volunteer service and professional leadership, I have developed strong skills in communication, problem-solving, and team building—qualities I would bring to the SOSNA Board to help strengthen our community.
